Coastal Flood Warning
Issued by the National Weather Service at 8:16 am EST on March 13, 2010

... Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 PM EST this
evening...

A coastal Flood Warning remains in effect until 10 PM EST this
evening.

Water levels were running 2 to 3 feet above normal on the tidal
Potomac River and Maryland Chesapeake Bay. These positive
departures will continue to result in minor to moderate tidal
flooding during the remaining high tides this morning.

With a persistent and gusty easterly wind... water levels are
expected to remain 2 to 3 feet above astronomical predictions
later today. This combined with the new moon phase of the lunar
cycle is expected to result in moderate tidal flooding during high
tide times this afternoon and evening.

Moderate tidal flooding will continue to be possible into Sunday
as water levels will be slow to recede. In addition... runoff from
heavy rainfall will enhance the flood threat on the upper tidal
Potomac River.

Here are the times of the next high tides
for a few locations from north to south...
on the Chesapeake Bay...
Havre de Grace... 8:51 PM...
Bowley Bar... 6:30 PM...
