Patchy fog is developing over low lying areas of eastern West Virginia...northern Virginia...Maryland...and the District of Columbia...particularly near bodies of water. Visibility in isolated locations may drop below 1 mile early this morning. With temperatures below freezing...this fog will be frozen fog...and has the potential to produce patches of black ice on area roadways and bridges. Motorists should use caution this morning...and be prepared for sudden fluctuations in visibility as well as isolated icy spots...particularly near lakes or river and stream valleys. The fog should dissipate shortly after sunrise...with temperatures rising above freezing by 800 am EST in most locations.
