... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 1 PM this
afternoon to 7 PM EST Wednesday...
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 1 PM this afternoon
to 7 PM EST Wednesday.
A strengthening area of low pressure will lift into the Ohio
Valley this morning. Early Wednesday a secondary area of low
pressure is expected to develop near the middle Atlantic coast and
slowly lift north along the New Jersey coast Wednesday afternoon.
Snow will develop across the central sections of Pennsylvania
around midday and increase in intensity and coverage through the
evening and overnight period. Snow may be heavy at times
overnight through Wednesday before tapering to flurries late in
the day. Snowfall rates could approach one inch per hour
overnight and early Wednesday for portions of the Susquehanna
River valley.
Total snowfall accumulations are expected to average between 8 and
12 inches over the central mountains. Higher totals of a foot or
more expected along and southeast of I-81... including
Harrisburg... York and Lancaster.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means a significant amount
of snow is forecast that will make travel dangerous. If you must
